Non-residents pay more than double the fee for residents here... although that is only $62 ha ha.

$160 for a year-long license that allows you access to some of the most beautiful places on earth and catch massive trout (well not me personally...) seems well worth it.

One of these days I will have to dust off the trout rod grab a license and get out for a bit of a go at the trout again, used to fly fish a lot when living in Rotorua damn near every day after work I was out with the fly rod used to have a lot of fun doing it too I still kick myself for selling up my fly fishing gear.

The price of a licence is reasonable if you can go out and expect to catch a fish or two most times.
Its unreasonable when zero stocking is in your area and one fish a year costs 500 bucks.
