Thread: went to napier trout fishing.

just to let those helpful people that gave me advice on doing some trout fishing in napier we tried. my wife and I headed over on sunday in our camper and checked out a couple of the spots.we then went and spent the night at Clifton reserve so we could get away to do some fishing Monday.Unfortunately we were woken at 2-15am an told to head inland because there was a tsunami warning because of the big earthquake down south.we spent the night in the middle of hastings.we then decide to head home. we stopped at the mohaka on the way for a fish. we will return in the near future for another go. cheers jeff

Why is a Taupo man going trout fishing in Napier?

I spent many years fishing the rivers in taupo.i gave up because of some of the ratbags that also fished the rivers. I got into sea fishing which I enjoy but thought I would some spin fishing for trout so napier seemed a good place to try. cheers jeff

Fair enough.
I lived in Taupo for 23 years and never fished for trout outside of Taupo.
Too tight to buy another licence.

Head a bit further down the road next time night of the tsunami ...

nice looking fish.like I said I will be back over to have another go. when we checked the Ngaruroro it was very dirty.the Tukituki looked nice and clear. cheers jeff
