    I enjoy watching those smaller ones they had in the build up AC45s I think. They just flew around the course. Some nice tight courses as well. Coutts is a master tactician on and off the water. His big boats may not be a winner but those smaller 45s have a larger following now and many more countries racing in them. I think there is a good future in the 45s.

    But pity the races are over so quick lol. Imagine falling off at 47 knots, that's 87kmh. That would bruise for sure.

    Cheers.

    If you like flying boats, take a look at the hydrometer built by the French. They started to work on it in the 70's. but only came with something that really works in the last 15 years due to composite improvements.
    RECORDS :: L'HYDROPTÈRE - Alain Thébault

    This boat is beating all the records at the moment.

    Oracle were trying to capture the (American) public by making the races shorter, more viewer friendly

    My pick is that the kiwis are as well prepared as oracle despite oracles massive budget. Its that old more with less professional attitude that we're famous for.

    As far a speed goes, I'm also picking the kiwis have the wood on the yanks here.. Just an educated guess but all the signs are there that the kiwi boat goes like a stabbed rat.

    In any case its starting to get to the business end ... Exciting

    Actually it is a Jaguar steering wheel:-) I wish the book from Alain Thebault was translated in English, it tells the whole story of that man and that boat.
