    Alternatives to Sky TV ?

What do others use in place of Sky TV? I am over Sky and their lack of worthwhile programmes , bullshit self-aggrandisement and back patting.

There must be some user-friendly alternatives that even a crusty old goat like me could manage to set up and use .......

If it wasn't for the live sports I'd have dumped Sky last century.

Both my self and my wife are sports watching junkies.

We just have an old laptop running through the tv, wireless mouse and keyboard on the coffee table and watch whatever we want whenever we want, including live sport (you can find anything online)

i am thinking thats probably the way to go. The son-and-heir had his laptop hooked up the other day and it seemed to work fine . Of course asking a teenager for help would be unrealistic .....

Pretty much the same here, really only watch Sky sports. I've had Sky for well over 20 years and 12 months ago ditched the Sky movie channels. My son came home from his mates place and raved on about Netflix, that night we signed up and run it thru his Xbox gaming console. The Cook and Boy are overseas for a few weeks and I'm home alone, get an email alert last Thursday from Netflix that Season 6 of Suits is out so binged watched all of Season 6 episodes over 2 nights. Best $16 monthly investment I've made.

I find reloading a good alternative, There is also reading, lure making, sharpening/making knives, picking your nose. TV really is over rated.
You could even try an internet forum...

sorry - dont watch sport , dont watch movies , dont watch serials , - actually if it was left to me I would burn the tv set and sky decoder and live happily ever after . But the price of occassional sex is keeping her indoors happy so there needs to be an alternative to sky or life will not be worth living - for me anyway .

I have tried those internet forums - regular cess-pits of depravity . I like them - well , some anyway

I've not been a Sky or even general broadcast patron for a few years - the only content I watch is on YouTube, Netlfix or Patreon or... for sports, dodgy streams.

Fuck TV, it's pretty much all total horseshit. Ads, braindead commentary, faux buildups.
