    Bastard birds...

Any ideas on how to keep bloody birds out of my garage? It's a versatile coloursteel job and they get up under the eaves or fly in when the door is open and make a bloody mess. They have started wrecking all the building paper roof lining, leave feathers and dry grass and other trinkets from their nest building attempts everywhere and have even shit on my reloading setup a few times. I'm not getting a cat and I don't want to have to block any holes etc with foam as they will still come in when the door is left open so I'm looking for a way to discourage them. Any advice appreciated

Air rifles are good. Other than that block off holes and string stuff up to to deter them. Don't think there is a lot that really works, they're in all the supermarkets too.

As gadget said with a big bright torch in the middle of the night. The fly a lot slower when sleepy and blinded by the light. I assume there are sparrows?

Mine is swallows in my 4 bay shed. Tried the artificial hawk bought off a pest control guy - he guaranteed its effectiveness. Didn't work, or may have for a wee period of time. Highly recommended that hanging old CDs on fishing nylon is the 100% solution - nah even less effective than the bogus hawk. Now down to throwing a cover over things that I don't want bird shit on tractor etc. Plus breaking their nests off rafters b4 they complete building them. Always check around tractor engine area b4 running it - lots of true stories about tractors catching fire due to bird's nests in engine bays.

you can stop them perching on a rafter by poking a nail at each end and stringing nylon between them...bird cant fit either side of nylon and cant sit on it .

Old fishing net hung from the rafters buggers them a bit, nylon fishing line on nails along the top of beams where they roost is also useful. You can spend a lot of time and effort and they will still beat you 99/100 so have some 22 shot shells handy for payback.

I hate mynahs. I often think about taking a pile of shitty .177s to the islands to give to the kids there

Dad had this problem! He got me to coat the bottom of the holes in grease. And where ever they liked to sit.
Just don't put to much on as it will run in hot weather, goes the same if your car is parked under where they sit.
Grease on car oh that's right it's only a Mini grease away
It works kept them out of dads implement shed for two or three years

They very well could be something else as I don't really know for sure what a myna is but thought it fits haha, they are black birds, bigger than a sparrow and kind of have a blue/green shine down their backs, Bastards whatever they are.
