    Cyclone Debbie fallout

We got off very light here in Palmy Nth. I had shifted my stock up off the low flood prone paddocks, but the rain didn't eventuate to much so only minor flooding.

Lots of people affected, so feeling lucky.

Usually once a year we get a flood through here and get cut off for 24-36 hours. It's still raining, so could yet happen so will monitor it through the day and work from home I think.

Thunderstorms they said - yeah right

I was up at 4am this morning so decided to check drains at the back. All ok so went for a drive to see if the fire station had flooded. Not this time. So went for a drive around and apart from the usual waterfalls and surface water here and there nothing of concern so back home. High tide was 5am and quite low so nothing to worry about there

Forcast for Nelson was heavy rain and 120kph+ winds but has been pretty benign all day till 5pm...raining pretty steady now but who knows how much we will actually get.....certainly not the met service anyway.

Was driving around Waikato today, around Te Kuiti/Otorohanga area. There's Quite a few places with flooding on either side of the road. Wouldn't be surprised if those bit meet up if the rain carries on. Will probably be back out that way tomorrow, will be interesting to see if the flooding carries on and closes the roads.

    That's what I thought.
Most of the country is being seriously affected by the weather, and a few houses about to fall into the sea get most of the coverage.

Same over here in the Moutere, it's a night my great grandfather would have described as being 'for whores and coppers'.

The Kaituna river popped her banks last night, hope all the residents and farmers down the lower reaches are ok. The alarm down Pap was activated, not sure what alarm that is. Anyone know? @Lentil ??

Think the old mai mai might be under water should be ok built to last, on the positive at least the weed will be washed out for opening
