Not so much black mouth, but the tongue is black with salmon (in my very limited experience)

Black tongue is what I meant. Trout don't have any black in the mouth.
    It's a salmon.😆

Easiest way (for me) is Salmon have a v in there tail (as in like a king fish but slight) Trout have a dead straight tail . Also trout mouth is a lot bigger/ longer , goes past it eyes .

My girl has a free kids licence around here somewhere so she will hopefully catch a fish out of the fish out ponds too.....She is not very keen but whenever she has caught fish she has loved it (kahawai ) unfortunately she gets sea sick.

The TAKF was done and dusted with my girls with 3 trout hooked and landed inside 15min. I think being first up the fish were less spooked and fed well. The instructor tied up a fly that looked like a pellet. Bang! Fish on every cast.
I got an email? I think from F&G of the event and had to book in advance. If you want to take your daughter may pay to find out how to get on the list. $3 for a trout and a sausage. Can't go wrong.
They issued a day licence on the day if you don't have one already and you can get a kids one for free (under 16 years old) any day of the year.
