Discussions are two or more people sharing ideas and sometimes they have to bring in facts.

If this pisses you off, send me a link to another NZ gun forum.

So far my experience here has been luke warm. Some folks are welcoming and others are outright cold and slam me since I'm just another American. I don't bash your country and it's history. But maybe I should.

For what it's worth, my wife's first phd was focused on "recent" Cuban history and she has practically been dancing a jig the last couple of days.

Miami- if you want a NZ forum that's gun focused and allows politics then maybe check out the sports shooter forum-no one there will object to the sorts of guns you post(nor should anyone here) and they would enjoy you talks on there usage.

Like it or not, this forums owners decided that they didn't want political conversation

Summed up perfectly. I'm keen to see what sort of gear Miami has, as it's not stuff I typically I see here. It's not really fair for people to assume he's the kind of guy to drool over the prospect of shooting someone in self defence just because he posted a caption-less photo of his Glock, or to assume he gets raging drunk before going shooting because he has a photo with firearms and booze in it.
But we could do without the political rants in general, you see them on the Sport Shooter forum, and I think it ruins it a bit.

@Miami_JBT I would like you to stay here. I find your posts very interesting. And if my family had been through what your has, I'd be celebrating now too.
Most of us New Zealanders live in such a sheltered environment it's hard to comprehend how you must be feeling right now.
    Enjoy your party.

It is both but I for one don't have a problem with Miami_JBT's contribution to this forum as I find what he posts interesting and informative. Others consider this thread and other posts that Miami JBT has made to be controversial and contrary to the forum rule of No politics and I support those members right to hold that view. Without being condescending I think that to some degree the issue around this is that the true meaning of politics ( and political) as they relate to governments and the governance of nations and to political parties and their respective policies is often confused with the common interpretation of the word political as meaning anything controversial in its subject matter.

Personally there are a few on here who could "lighten up" on being overly PC about Miami's posts. For the most part this thread was an interesting piece of political history. Get over yourselves .

I would assume no politics means no local or national politics. For this discussion to be classed in the no politics theme is laughable. I guess a sense of self importance coupled with a low iq would explain some reactions to miami's posts

I for one would be sad if we chased off @JBTMAIMI. I agree there are degrees of politicism and feel his words are meant as informative, and not to convert.

We all have different views and perspectives after all
