    Rally Photos

Seeing as a fair few of us on here are petrolheads and I do another sort of shooting as well, here are a bunch of photos from the Otago Rally last weekend:

An old Nikon D80. Some of the photos are taken with the wee 18-70mm lens, some with a relatively kickass 80-200mm f2.8, the lens weighs 1.5kg but reallly nice glass.

    Nice work there GB

We unfortunately had to replace a steering rack on Sunday in the 2nd service, and then the engine "expired" in the 2nd to last stage.
Bit of a downer after so much time and effort, but on the upside - we get to fit the new hot rod engine before Whangarei

Its a Hartge-tuned BMW with the V12 from an 850 or something I think, no shortage of power!

Should be a few more of his car in the linked albums too, I didn't want to flood the thread with too many pics. If he wants high-res copies of a few to print just flick me a PM and I'll send you some.

Figured something had gone wrong when he came through that stage in the middle of the classic field! New engine sounds interesting, is it a secret or are you allowed to tell us about it?

Just fresher specs, new exhaust, better tuned for E85, quad throttle bodies and hopefully more power.
We're lacking grunt compared to the turboed cars and the old rules restricted us to what mods we could do. Now there's no more GroupN it's more of an open field, we can pretty much do what we want.

Lino has sold that to an Aussie that is going to leave it here in NZ and run it whenever he comes over.
He is building another car at the moment that is going to be really cool.

Those turbo cars get to take advantage of the e85's better qualities over a n/a car aswell
