    Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse

Ok so maybe not Zombies but how about a huge natural disaster or civil disorder anyway it all goes to hell in a handbag. You know no power or water and its everyone for them selves. You only have what's on you back. You have to bugout grab what you can and make tracks. A pack each and a firearm.

What do you grab out of your gun cabinet. Not what you would like to have with you but what you can lay your hands on at a moments notice.

I would grab either my 10/22 Ruger or Marlin 39A lever.22 Why? Light to carry, high capacity, ammo is light to carry and I heaps of it. Both quiet and can be used to take small game and birds for food and at a pinch can be used for self defense. Yeah sure the 7mm Mag would be nice but lets get real its heavy and how much ammo can you carry same goes for the pump action Shotgun

Thousands of litres of good water in the tanks, shit loads of edible animals in the surrounding paddocks, al the camp cooking gear a man could ever need and sitting on a easily defended knoll, I would stay here and have ready access to all my rifles, shotguns, pistols, knives, machete and slasher. Get the family over, heavily arm brothers and son in laws, organise them into shift patterns for 24 hour cover ....... Haven't really thought about it much.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

There are only three types of people in this world. Those that can count, and those that can't!

@mikee you are probably right but what if some damn fool lets off a dirty bomb in NY or London and the world financial system goes into melt down and us along with it. I sure will want to get out of Dodge.
