    Tempting the Wroth

I no that this is no politics. But I thought that I might just show you what BASC which is one of our shooting voices here in the UK dose for shooters.

As you may well know it is an election here in the UK in a few days time.

So BASC sent this letter out to its members. you fill it out and you found out if your local MPs are pro shooting sports our not.

An email is sent and they must reply!

Here below is the letter.. and below that is one of the response that I have received from a candidate.

BASC, Marford Mill, Wrexham LL12 0HL
    Tel: 01244 573 000
    ---
Have you contacted your candidates on shooting before the General Election?

With the General Election just days away we’re asking all members to help us find out where their candidates stand on shooting.

If you have not already done so, you can help by using BASC’s interactive website to contact the candidates standing in your constituency. The BASC General Election site identifies your constituency and candidates and provides you with an email text to send them. In a few minutes you can make a real contribution to the future of shooting. For the new parliament BASC will need all the information it can get on where the new MPs stand on shooting.

Click here to go to the site and enter your postcode and email address. You will then be able to see all the candidates in your constituency. To email them, just follow the instructions on the page. Please copy their reply to BASC politics. Each candidate will be given a rating relating to their stand on shooting - either 'supportive', 'neutral', 'anti', 'don't know' or 'unknown'.

When you contact your candidates, please send their response to BASC politics, so we can update our records.

Thank you for your help and support

Thank you for getting in touch.

My mail traffic is very busy at the moment. While I will try to answer all election queries before June 8th, I cannot guarantee that this will be possible.

Thank you for caring, though. Whatever your political views, people who care are the ones that keep the world going around.

    With all best wishes,

    Judith

    Parliamentary Candidate
    Liberal Democrats
    Newbury constituency

Vote for Judith Bunting on Thursday 8th June
    - Protect our services
    - Fight for local business
    - Stand up for education

Just got this reply from the conservative mp, looks like he's supporting
    Nothing form anyone else yet.

Thank you for contacting me about shooting sports.

Shooting is an integral part of rural life, underpinning the social and economic fabric of the countryside. In addition to its significant economic contribution, providing jobs and investment in some of our most remote areas, shooting delivers important benefits for wildlife and habitat conservation, as you point out. I will continue to support shooting sports and the rights of all those who wish to use firearms safely and in accordance with the law.

I would particularly applaud the British Association for Shooting and Conservation for helping promote stewardship of our natural heritage as an essential part of the role shooting plays.

I agree that the All Party Parliamentary Group has a positive role to play in raising the profile of these issues further, but given my many existing commitments, I am unfortunately unlikely to be able to join. I am, however, grateful to you for bringing it to my attention.

I and the Government will continue to support and protect the right of people to engage in legal shooting activities.

    Yours sincerely
