    The Gateway was always good!
However the owner decided it was a better option (cheaper) to put us in a hotel right in POM (30 mins from airport) rather then the Gateway (5).
First night driving there my phone was almost stolen out of my hand, second night gun shots outside compound gates. Awesome!!!

Yeah I was getting hassled to give a kid money while I was waiting for a shuttle to the Gateway. Kept saying if I don't give him any money he was gunna die.

He was the size of Ricky Baker and smelt like a rutting stag so I had no problems telling him it would be a year before his body ate itself even if he had no food.

Heard shots last nite. Hotel guard, drunk with shotgun according to the driver this morning.😆

I spose it is why POM is one of the most dangerous cities in the world. It is full of rocket scientists😆

hahaha, yup I miss POM. Well not really! haha.
Best thing was a dirty old pie and a few Green cans ( two was more then enough after 28 days dry) while sitting at the departure lounge!

I can't stomach either the white or green cans.
I go topshelf or maybe a Heiny.

Only thing they do well in PNG drinkwise is their coffee. Best I have had to be fair.

    We couldn't afford Heinys haha.
Actually they had Heineken open night to celebrate Heineken in PNG. Invite only, all the big wigs so not us lowly pilots. Snuck in for a couple though before heading back to the room.
Turned into a riot at 2am and gunshots and a landcrusier in the drain hahahaha.

I bought a couple heinys for some flap fags I was talking too, last nite. Pretty sure it was only 32 Kina? 15 bucks Oz.

I prefer the white can at 130kina/tray. Airways has a nice pool for a preflight swim
