Whats everyone drinking for the friday before opening? I have a Glenfarclas 12 but will probably pick something else up as well. My duck hunting buddy has good taste in single malt as well so will bring something nice. Last year we sipped on a Johnney Walker Island Green 15, a peated bunnahabhain and some other stuff I can't remember.

There is nothing quite like sitting in a cold paddock with a roaring fire sipping some smokey single malt.

I lived there from '97-'99. Shot a lot of deer, red and roe, thousands of rabbits and mountain hares, and did a lot of foxing. Also drank a huge amount of whisky, often house sitting in staff cottages at the distillery. Some of the best times of my life in and around that tiny village.

Was there for the distilleries centenary, one Saturday we had clay bird shooting followed by a monumental free piss up. I had to leave at 330pm to start my shift in the pub, I was almost legless serving customers. I got a bottle of the centenary whisky, bottle number 17 or 18, it was issued free to staff. It's in my safe in NZ along with a few other niceties.

Scouser you know your Whiskey is safe around me. Bring them both down to the Toby shoot this year and pull up a chair next to an old fellah.

Won't be safe around me @Rushy.

But the distiller will rest easy knowing that every sip would result in a full apriciation of his product and his skills.

    Cheers

Ha ha ha ha Scouser came to the camp fire with a couple of drams in a glass last year. I asked for a sniff and skilled it when he passed it to me. Being a good lad he just said "fuck you Rushy, now I have to go fill it again".
