Hi guys. I'm also a newbie. Getting back into hunting after 20 years with 3 kids and no spare cash(according to the minister of finance). Looking for a new 270 or rem mag. Have seen one or two savage axis guns going on trade me.
Look like good value, but I know nothing about the gun or quality except it is an old established brand. Any one to help? Cheers

Welcome RPM. Savage is a fine brand and good value for the money spent. I have a couple and they both do the business.

Savages are great except the Axis.. You could find a second hand rifle (higher up model, say a Weather Warrior or a Trophy Hunter) for the same price as a new Axis. You'd be better off with the second hand one than the Axis.
