    hi im an aussie

    Hi all
I have moved from oz to motueka with my lovely wife and two daughters. I am very excited to start my hunting in nz but need a mentor to show me the ropes. I will start the process of getting a gun license in a weeks time and already have a air rifle. I would really like to join someone on a trip to see what its like. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Welcome to Godzown and welcome to the forum. There are plenty of forum members down your neck of the woods so spend some time here and contribute and I am sure one of them will point you in the right direction.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

    Welcome mate.
I would also recommend joining up with your local New Zealand Deer Stalkers Association branch, as they run hunter training courses, as the NZ outdoors can bite you with the extreme weather and terrain. Not like the 'bites' you get from the Ozzie wildlife though!

    Hi there Cheman,
I'll endeavour to get in touch with you when I get home in a week or so, I'm only up the road from Mot.
I'm not a very good hunter but I do enjoy a cold beer and tall stories.
