    New to Canterbury

    Hi all,

    I have recently moved to Canterbury from the Waikato.
    I used to do lots of rabbit and possum shooting as I knew a lot of farmers back up North, and used to shoot a few goats and try for deer a bit too.

    Keen to try find a few places to shoots some deer if I can, but also keen on rabbits and just a bit of target shooting too.
    Hope I can learn a bit from the forum and might have some useful things to add also.

    I have said it in another thread but welcome Sam.
    It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
    What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
    Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
    Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
    Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
    Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
    Rule 5: Check your firing zone
    Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
    Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

    I'm not entirely sure how Beetroot came, I think I was having trouble finding a user name for another shooting forum and just tried Beetroot and it worked.
