    Digital pics/dates HELP

I am trying to sort my digital photos into some sort of date order and have got a problem.
When I click on a pictures properties, it tells me the date that the pic was "created" in the format it is currently in.
In other words, the date that I last put it in a particular file etc. I want to know the date it was actually taken.
    Am I missing something ?

I may have to scrap this idea as I have discovered that some of my pics of NZ hunting trips were (according to the camera imprint dates) taken before I even got here

When you go to properties there should be several tabs at the top of the window that pops up..
    General, Security, Details, Previous Versions.
Click on Details and it should show things like date taken and info about what camera was used..

If your viewing program lets you see exif data it should be shown in there - depends on the date having been set right in the camera though!
