Hydraulic water sausage stuffer - DIY build

    Anyone built one?

Been researching and planning on buying a traditional crank one for a while but came across a US company selling DIY assembly hydraulic units.

Got me thinking and planning and I think I'll run with this. A search found a guy in Wanga's that's done one, and there's some good sites overseas. Might have to hit my bro in law up for the machining of the piston, but should be able to handle everything else myself.

I don't want a PVC unit, as I like to see what's going on, so I've sent a quote request for some polycarbonate tubing as a starting point. If that's reasonable, I'll do the rest with pvc fittings.

Good idea, I have tinkered with the idea of making one myself, the piston/plunger/seal would be a bitch of a job to get right.
Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

Spoke to a supplier who said the poly will scratch up, but go to acrylic... only problem is price, 1m min order at $215 each plus GST, plus freight

    Back to PVC for now.

hamsav, the main ones for buying are all manual, I want hydraulic if I can... besides, where's the fun in buying something I think I'd love the challenge of making it.
