    LSA55 22-250 Project

    Because I don't want to hijack @257weatherby 's thread.

Picked up this LSA55 in 22-250. Last 4" of the barrel are pitted and looks real rough, the barrel is original and looks to have suffered a bit of corrosion from a suppressor without an isolator tube?

Anyway got a box of Hornady 55 Vmax as previous owner said it shoots ok with em, and off to the range.

3 groups later and it will do 12mm if I cherry pick a 3 shot group CTC, but real grouping capacity seems to be more around 25-28mm.

MOG minute of goat I reckon.

Ordered a Gunworks Spartan 41mm can, picked up a set of second hand CH4D dies, a box of 55 grain Nosler FBBT 'Varmageddons', some CCI large rifle primers and 2 tins of WW748.

Just waiting on the box of Lapua brass.... and we will be able to see what she will really do.

It doesn't cycle that flash with the 22-250 so I have sourced some 22-250AI brass and see what that does. FYI the spare 22-243 rounds feed great...

My first 22-250 was an LSA-55. Stunningly accurate. I wore the barrel out. Still gives me nightmares when I recall what I got for it as a trade. Didn't seem fashionable to rebarrel as is common nowadays. Wish I had kept it.
Mine was marked with extra engraved name of STIRLING in front of the Tikka - marketed in Oz as that. And the butt plate was marked ITHACA so some Yankee marketing connection as well.
