    A newbie with a licence question ...

    Hi all,

I am planning to go for my firearms licence within the next month, I have already sat and past my test and am just playing the waiting game untill I turn the the golden age of 16.

I just have one question regarding a part of the licence process, with the referee that is un-ralated and over 20 years of age do they need to have been to your house and seen where your firearm will be kept?

Look forward to getting into this fourm,

    Cheers.

    Welcome !

Sorry don't know the answer to your question but i think not.
Its up to the AO to inspect your security as i understand it.

Ideally I think it would help, but it is more of a character reference, the AO will inspect your security himself.

Welcome and good luck with the licence app!

Got My Firearms licence about 2 months back now, was a referee for a mate and he was a referee for me at the same time. For the most part the questions are related to whether your referee has seen you handling firearms, and if so your attitude towards the firearms. Other then that the questions seemed to be related to you as a person i.e. your character, level of responsibilty, gang connections, mental state etc.
One of the most important question seemed to be the "Do you think that anyone should be scared if the person that you are acting as a referee for had firearms"
Welcome and good luck with your application.
