Thoughts on what to do? Worried if I register the barrel and I get pulled up with a different barrel they won’t be happy.

Or do I register each barrel as its own firearm?
Is the receiver serialised? I haven't held an R93 for a while so I can't remember if they do. If receiver has a serial. I would personally just do that and then have the calibre as whatever one you use the most. Then ignore the barrels as they aren't a major part under the rules as I see it.

Though, I'm just some shcmuck. It probably isn't a bad idea to go and talk to one of the local AOs in person. Go down to central Police station in Chch and see Jason there? I would trust an AO over any of the FSA staff over the phone for that sort of stuff.

May or may not be helpful but have you tried contacting your local arms office and explained the situation, see if they can offer any advice?

That might actually be the easiest and pragmatic solution, gunworks can do the engraving. Might even pay to ring them this may be something they've already had to deal with. They are always keen to help

That's annoying. The answer may come back from the AO/FSA that you need to serialise the receiver.

From memory there is a serial number on an R93 receiver, but you have to take the receiver out to see it. For my K95 I just used the number on my barrel.

On those does the bolt lock into the barrel extension or into the receiver? I can't remember, but if the barrel contains the locking lugs it's the receiver as well. The tube at the back is just a convenient place to hang the trigger, magazine and guide the bolt... If you whap a serial onto the 'receiver' the barrels are still in theory able to be used in another rifle? How is the bolt numbered? It may be that you need to serialise the unmarked barrel and register that, I dunno. It's one of those questions that needs a proper answer and just hacking it doesn't work. What happens if you end up wearing out or selling the barrel that you used to register the thing is another question, or if you have it out and it gets stolen or lost but it's wearing one of the other barrels?

Each barrel contains the receiver essentially. The bolt locks into the barrel lugs. So putting it that way it probably is the barrel that is the integral part of the firearm. If you wear out the barrel you cut it of but the serial number would remain on the “stub” so you would just re-register the same serial number to a different calibre if you rebarelled

To be honest that makes sense and is probably why the main serial is on the barrel stub, because Europeans have all sorts of rules about firearm numbers allowed etc.

The bolt doesn’t appear to have a number. Again two parts, the housing and then the bolt heads which are interchangeable.

I have a desert tech with a number of barrels as well but serial number is on the chassis/action so a bit more straightforward.

For those registering via phone, just be aware your actual firearms may not appear on the system as registered to you for a while.
But you do get a receipt emailed to you.

I had a few weirdo firearms that I couldn't do online, so Rang them in. In all honesty after trying the two processes Id recommend ringing them in. It was far easier than the clunky online system and was faster.

    Hey guys random question.
Can anyone actually see what firearms are registered to them? I went to register a couple tonight. And fuck me what the hell. I can't see a list of firearms registered in my name only forms I submitted and shit I did over the phone just doesn't even exist on there. So here I am sitting at home thinking I'm doing the right things and their ass of a system doesn't display half the shit I've got. Like what the actual hell. On top of that it says my profile isn't validated? What's going on with this croc of shit

In order to view your registered items you need to validate you account. The following is from the FSA website...

How to validate your MyFirearms account

    Step 1: Log in
Visit MyFirearms and log in with RealMe. You’ll need your mobile phone to carry out the security check.

    Visit MyFirearms

Step 2: Go to My Submissions
Select the ‘My Submission’ link at the top of that page. This will take you to your My Submission dashboard.

Step 3: Go to MyFirearms Submitted Forms
Select the heading ‘MyFirearms Submitted Forms’. This will show you all the forms you have submitted online.

Step 4: Find your Complete Your Profile form
Under the heading ‘My submitted other forms’ you'll find a link to your Complete Your Profile form. The link will start with the letters ‘CYP’. Select the link.

Step 5: Save and print the PDF
You’ll find a PDF file at the top of the Complete Your Profile 'Submission' page. The file name will be the date you submitted the form. Save it to your device, then print a copy out.

Step 6: Bring the form to a Police station
Bring the printed form in person to a Police station, together with your firearms licence card. Once your identity has been confirmed, your MyFirearms account will be validated. This may take a few days.

OK, I'm now confused. Registered my details and guns online. All done?
