    German Sheppard sitting

An old couple we know have both run into health issues, so I'm now baby sitting a eight month old German Sheppard bitch for several weeks

Very nice natured pup, but she's had no training. The owner couldn't believe I could catch her, gave me some nosy toy that worked for her but not me. So thought about it for a few seconds, dropped to a knee and had her in hand within five seconds tops. The owner couldn't believe I could catch her as no one else can. LMAO

I think I'm going to enjoy this, but open to pointers on training this breed as it's a first for me. Straight obedience.

Booze around here northdude, I'm not from the north

Introduced her to the crew today, went well, better than I thought in fact. But of course she wants to play with the tiny four month old pups, physical size of her means it doesn't go well for them.

Don't you need a mate in a padded suit to train a GS?

    Easy dogs to train.
Need to sus out if she's food, or toy driven. (Reward)
The secret is consistency and not moving on to fast
You're going to have fun training her
He nui to ngaromanga, he iti to putanga.

You depart with mighty boasts, but you come back having done little.
Sounds like a typical hunting trip !

I still laugh at the story of a unnamed police handler visiting a victim of his dog and apologizing for how badly hurt the guy was. The fella said "I know it's not your fault Bro, I could hearing you calling "Rouse" off bro"!
