Andy Jones in Hawkes bay and Eugenie Clapham in Auckland breed very nice working labs...

All those with dogs waiting no longer fear death. Those with many dogs waiting even welcome it in it's time.

They are, same with Eugenie's. Andy's (greymist) are slow to mature but the easiest dogs I have ever trained.... This is the last one I took through to fully trained for a client, was working runners at 8 months (Those that know me know I almost never allow this, but he was just natural I just let him go and he did it all in his stride.)

Munsey, yes there are some breeders down there with good dogs, but I believe those two are the best. I would have someone you know travelling down by car pick up your pup rather than to compromise by getting one closer. I'll put some feelers out for you.

Munsey you are too young for a lab!

On a serious note if you need a hand with picking up a pup here and transporting it south then sing out, I'd be happy to help. Truth is if you are going to have the best it's worth the effort to go visit the breeder yourself. Dogs are cheaper as carry on luggage as opposed to sending them alone. Just time it during the season so you can come back here for a shoot

It's not hard to fly a pup to the South Island, and it's less than a few hundred bucks.
Got a young Britt pup coming over from oz and it was 1900

$1900 is good from Oz kawhia - only dog I brought from there cost me 3k.
It's $180-200 alone inter-island, and $75 as checked in luggage if you are flying too. No excuses munsey

So was the 1900 one cheaper due to size of crate? Sorry to hijack the thread
