it was something that the St John trainer thought about during the course, they keep track but we have no recording at all haha

it'll be interesting to see how it all evolves but I'm happy about the situation of us being first responders. Our brigade has been tipped out to medicals for years so the St John MOU made no difference to what our brigade is sent to but now we have the tools do a meaningful intervention. Great for the community all round.
If i could have a full time job shooting pests i'm up for over time.

Who doesn't? I reckon Swanee must have had shares in it with the endless babble about how we shouldn't go there.

    Cfbt is such cool training

Haha, last time I went down was for honours for our brigade and Ngongotaha..... didn't make it to town that night......

In other news, passed my ERD course, and doing my consolidation now.
Got my Class 4L for the tanker and will be able to get my full in May this year.
    SFF is next course...

Also, I need to fill up my calendar with a few hunts this year. Anyone keen to take me under their wing?

The point of the SFF isn't gaining knowledge, its gaining the abilities and confidence to lead a group to achieve a task. It's the 'what happens after the TAPS course' bits that are important.

The CFBT is bloody good, we did a live burn in Tauranga recently for training - first time for me for hot training in 11 years or something. Makes you realise what you don't know and what has changed...

While I was away over the Xmas/New Years break, my guys got hammered three or four house fires, medical assist calls, prangs you name it. I get back - NOTHING. Nada. We've had about two calls in the entire time. If this keeps up, they'll whip the hat around and send me on leave again.

From that photo, it looks a little like the 'frog' position - one or two steps up from the 'lizard' position which is flat out!

New record for me, 20hours duration incident - with 3-1/2hrs off in the early morning. Left that job to go to a shelter belt on fire - don't you love the hot dry northwesterlies!!!

Not so much the rain as the wind. We lost power 9pm Saturday till 5.45am Sunday. The station was out till 5pm Sunday and all backup batteries were dead

We just got a new generator for our station. Does the radio, limited lights, doors and the traffic lights i think. Didn't end up using it, but how ever. The ambo's came to stay with us as their station had lost power from what I heard.. Our pump got relegated to behind the tanker.

Na don't think Jo is hunting. Are you going out this year at all?
