Akld/Waikato is closest, and they also closed 5th June, with parries closing this Sunday. Need to shift to CSI I think.

Our duck season finished 5th June, and every day since, there have been flocks of ducks flying over my house, quacking their fool heads off. Ah well - not long to go until next season:oh noes:

Yep - had the gas cooker for a cookup of porridge for breakfast, so used the cooker to singe the birds up nice and clean. Aged for a couple of days in the fridge, then vac packed and into the freezer...

Son and I got 5 Saturday, 3 Sunday morning, and 7 on our last day of the season - Monday. Pic shows what it's all about.

Had a rooster dead to rights at 20 metres, but dogs were on the other side...

Well - you have two choices on pheasants. Slow the dog down, or speed yourself up.

Two of us accounted for 5 mallies and 1 pheasant on Saturday. On Sunday, this was all we got - no shots fired!!

Got 5 parries and one mallard this morning. Unusual to see parries at my spot, which is a F&G balloted area. No-one else was around, so nice and relaxed. I had my son's dog with me, and she doesn't...

Limit only 6 for mallards/graylards here in Eastern. Son & I had ours done by 7:30 on Saturday, ended up cooking a big feed, son training new pup and hanging out for parries or spoonies and talking...

Aaahhh. A labour of love!!!

My son's dog - 1st season. She has performed really well on the ducks, and is now on the pheasants.

Here in Eastern the limit is 8 each per day. My son and I had our usual week off to go duckshooting, and we managed 14 Opening, 11 Sunday, 7 Monday, then limits Tues through to yesterday (Saturday)....
