I used tru oil one coat it did nothing then used this old as can of dark walnut stain, that got it to where it is. It's kind of growing on me the lighter colored stock but I might go darker then seal

I did that, factory finish was a plain dark finish, like really dark. Turns out it was cause the stock has bugger all grain but I might make it a bit darker at some stage.

Lucky I still have one 25N in the cupboard :)
