The real good point of a good set of digitals, apart from the failing eyesight bit, is the ability to do be able to do maths on them ie take a measurement, zero them and then measure something else...
One of my 4 DTI is an expensiveStarrett digital. It never gets used. It is the most hopeless thing to use compared to a clockwork dial gauge.
Re an earlier comment, I have never had a Mitutoyo...
