Give Gun City Christchurch a call, I think I have seen 1 there
Could also be the rifling grabbing the wad & pulling it cleanly off the slug maybe, as the groupings were terrible before I started putting the card/felt under the slug. Would really need a highspeed...
I didnt find the slugs as accurate with the skeet choke & imp cyl choke but minute of rabbit & possum has been good so far, am looking forward to pugs in the next few weeks
Win aa hulls, white win aa 1& 1/8 wad with 20g felt base cut in half under the slug & petals trimmed back to shoulder of slug 8 crimp & 22grains as50n powder, win 209 primer. We blow up 2lt milk...
I use a Remington 1187 with scope & rifled choke in a slug barrel, I shoot 1oz Lee Keydrives ...... explodes a rabbit at 50-60m. Am looking forward to trying it on a few pigs
The Promatic Pigeon are great fun with the electric foot release, I had 1 from guncity to test for them & it was an easy way to blast through a box of clays & slab of ammo in a 5 shot semi auto with...
I've used a maniatis 410 one & it was amazing we were shooting clays with it, would be keen to try 1 with slugs in 12 guage
I used AS50N as I couldnt get AP70
the wads I used were White, without the felt base I had the indentation like yours. Use a felt/cork base & trim the petals back to the shoulder of the slug, this improved the accuracy of mine heaps....
I have been using Win AA compression formed hull with Win 209 Win AA12 11/8 wad cut petals to length, 20g felt under 1oz lee keydrive, 21.6grains AS50n. I use this in Rem 1187 slug gun & it goes...
Gavin Paton does the Beretta gun fitting in Auckland & has a well equipped workshop at Beretta NZ.
The slower cartridges will pattern tighter which is why the winchester super x was so good in the bigger shot
Can I use the Star crimp or do I have to roll crimp with the Lee slugs or Lyman slugs? I was thinking of using Vectan A1 powder, 1oz Lee Slugs, Winchester 209 primers & winchester wad like aa12, in...
Cheers, that would be fantastic.
I am interested in doing a couple of single shot shotguns I have up as sluggers with shorter barrels & rifle sights. Just as a novelty thing really but curious to see the results & maybe use them on...
28inch is short for a trap gun & is it fixed or interchoke? this will have a big impact on price. 30 or 32 inch was the normal in the DT10. $5-6k is a good price especially if it is 28inch.
Is the barrel a 30inch step rib or flat rib? 30 inch is a pretty long barrel for hunting if you are a smaller person in my opinion. What sort of choke are you wanting for ducking? For pond & closer...
Sorry but I am a bit of an 1100 fan. The Multi targets are nice to shoot & there are a few floating about at the moment but the budget is the issue with getting buyers for them.
I'm looking for a Remington 1100 or possibly 1187 at the moment but not a Beretta sorry
We were a bit light on numbers there today, I wonder if he was one that I picked a gun up for him to try out. At least the young fella got to have a shot, thanks. We left about 4.30 & you know its...
Hi, I was the second coach to help Holly out at Waihora today & I am coaching a school team out there on sunday 15th from 11am, she is most welcome to attend also. I have a few 12 gauge guns on a...
Wow lots of Gun Porn right there, way cool.
Shotgunners should get themselves some decent coaching & have their guns fitted to suit them & their needs (most people can get into a car, some can start it, but not so many can actually drive it...
My young fella used my sxs with .410 inserts his first season (he was 8 yrs old) & then 3/4oz 12gauge (like 28gauge but better pattern) on rabbits. We used Briley 20g inserts in the sxs last season....
I come across lots of quality old or secondhand shotguns but usually when fitting a new gun for somebody & just ask them what they are doing with their old one (usually trap or skeet guns) & they...
