Hey Sideshow. I have just found a 17gn Hornady round that has gone through the washing in my jeans pocket. I will try it and let you know what happens.:)
I have used the Hornady 20gn but my rifle didn't shoot it as well as the 17gn.
Man. Those are REAL splits. My 17HMR never does anything near that bad. I have only ever notice it on the actual neck of the case, not in the body.
Probably tighter neck dimensions in Sako and Anshultz?
Less room for the neck to expand?
I have had both Hornady and CCI with split necks after firing but there does not seem to be any problem with accuracy or damage to the rifle. I have decided it is what is is and get on with it....
Yeah. Had the same thing happening for years in my CZ but only notice it when I look at the spent cases.:)
Solution. Don't look at the empty case.
