Big river was knee deep when we came back but there are numerous soft spots to negotiate. A fat bike would work fine.

That doesn't surprise me. I saw the Nelson 4x4 club had been in there a while ago and a few adventure riders. Braver than me.

Cool place alright. We walked down from the Turimawiwi river. Just have to time the tides right.
