Update.
Replacment Timney trigger finally arrived.
250 rounds through it yesterday with no issues so trigger problem solved I guess.
Had been running the stock trigger till this arrived. the...
Another quick update.
The Timney trigger has gone back again. This time sounds like it will be replaced.
It went auto at a drop of a hat and the only way to stop it was by deliberately talking my...
Hi Gundoc.
NZGUNS are still working on a billet bolt lock for me. A tough ask.
I will look at a shim. The clearances certainly don’t help the issue.
In the mean time they keep suppling the...
[QUOTE=hunt_fish;487192]Are the Timneys adjustable for overtravel? That's the only thing I can think of that might make it act the way you describe. Otherwise
In theory, they are factory set and...
Yep I clean the trigger with the brakeclean everytime I clean the rifle (About every 1-1.5k rounds or once a month, what ever comes first).
Its not a good look when shooting at the pistol club.
Good to know.
Thanks Seano.
The heavy bolt slamming closed may be some of the issue.
It felt like I needed to actually take my finger of the trigger to ensure it didn’t hammer follow / fire multiple shots.
I certainly...
Another quick update.
The Timney trigger crapped out again yesterday.
It’s been good since it came back from being fixed (Return screw shaken loose) but now the hammer is following and or going...
Yep I am interested to know as well what the fix is going to be.
In the mean time as long as they keep sending spare bolt stops I will keep putting up with it.
Failing that, it will get returned...
Quick update.
The timney trigger crapped out tonight.
Its not quite 4 months old. It will just not reset, both after firing a shot or just cycling the action by hand. Grrr.
It has only done about...
Update Time.
Still breaking bolt catches. 4 broken now.
Seem to break one every 1500 to 2000 rounds (50 - 75 mag changes, about once every two months).
NZGuns sending more spares plus they have...
Hi Seano.
The Stag 9T uses a Stag custom 9mm buffer (Correct length for a carbine length buffer tube and presumably correct weight for 9mm blow back).
I have added a short spacer (Approx 20mm...
So another 1k rounds down the tube.
The bolt stop has started to bend and there are some cracks around the pin hole so I think it will last maybe another 1k rounds before it also fails.
I was...
So I put 250 rounds down range. Every mag locked open on the last round so all good.
The 21mm long spacer means the bolt only just locks back. Hopefully this reduces the pounding on the bolt lock....
So I fitted the replacement catch tonight. No issues fitting it.
I turned up a UHMWPE spacer today to reduce the over travel of the bolt on the retract stroke so that it does not have excessive run...
I just had a call from Jim.
He is grabbing a replacement of another 9T he has in stock and will put on a courier early next week.
GunsNZ are great to deal with. Their service great.
The part...
Another quick update.
Round count is slight less than 2000 now. Christmas and the beach has slowed the round count down.
I replaced the Wilson Trigger with a 3lb Timney and 500 rounds latter I have...
Yep its not looking good for them.
Shame, as they make some really good firearms.
I also have a Stag 300 Blackout upper as well which is just fantastic, reliability and accuracy wise.
Quick update.
1500+ rounds down range now.
Accuracy and reliability is excellent for the Stag T9.
The Wilson Combat TTU trigger has proved to be very average. The weight and break are fantastic...
I fitted the new trigger and 350 rounds later I can report that I like shooting this rifle a lot. The plate rack got a good going over as did some IPSC paper targets.
My only complaint is I have a...
So I ordered a couple of these triggers last night, one of which I will fit to my Stag 9T. Jim (GUNSNZ) gave me a 10% discount so I wouldn't need to wait till their weekend sale.
Good bunch of guys...
Put the first shots through my Stag 9T tonight.
I should have taken more ammo. 150 rounds did not last long at all. Dam fun to shoot. Will take 500 rounds next time.
Sighted it in at 50m then...
Well my Stag 9T finally cleared Wellington and arrived.
Took way longer than I expected but I guess that's what happens when its the first lot imported by anyone into the country.
First impressions...
A good but long winded review.
