Since I can't use the callsign because it will not be unique to any vessel I'll have to think of a name or three. Tricky if I make the plastic boat because apparently nothing sticks to the stuff.

I got one last year and it was much cheaper than that. However that is a handheld device that may be used on a number of small craft and more that one of those may be on the water at any given time....

They'll be paddling a while to get there.

So the school must surely need to work out a unique numbering system for each board/kayak/whatever. Trailer number would be no good, nor school name and phone number because they'd all be the same.

Wonder how that goes with a kayak, dinghy, SUP, etc.
