Aaaahhhh, shaddap you!
Again! Pretty much guaranteed.
It is in the wrong place, which is right for it's intended user. The good thing is that most of the bits have come from the forum or forum advertisers. The only exception is the rail direct from EGW....
Finally put most of the bits together. Load development next.

Yeah, I already do. Mine does tiny groups at 100m.
The girls one should be better with the longer barrel, faster twist, better optics, muzzle brake, ... better operator. :XD:
Step 1: Collect one A-bolt 7mm Rem Mag. Complete.
Oi! I resemble that remark.
Suppose at some stage I'll need to work out a cheek riser since the ocular will be heading for the stratosphere with all this angle on it.
I need a set too. I was just lazy and didn't put the thousandth of an inch units and know how they work. The actual angle change will be determined by the ring spacing which is easy enough to work...
EGW 20 MOA rail is on the way at least.
Very true. Though I'm not sure I've ever heard ebf mention them. ;)
I see. The inserts are not sold separately. They only come with 0 and 10 in the package with new rings. Looks like I'll need to buy 2 new sets to get the inserts as the set I already have only has...
Was in there today. They sell the 30mm rings but apparently the offset inserts are only available for the 1" rings.
Now if only they had offset inserts for the 30mm rings we'd be able to get even more elevation adjustment.
But, .... but, ... but, ... Yes mother!
Fixed that for you.
So I should put my scope on her rifle again?
A second hand rifle is probably cheaper and gives more options.
Would just need the inserts for that. But I do like the rails.
Currently has a 4-16 Vortex on the 243, so might flick that onto the 7mm RM. Then put the Pentax back on the 243 for hunting. Sounds like the Vortex was more than clear enough at the 585y target last...
Has some OK glass on the current rifle that could get swapped over. What sort of magnification should I throw on, with reasonable quality glass, to get out to 1km?
I've sorted a 7mm RM. Will be an extra 2" of barrel and a faster twist than mine. But the bolt will be on the wrong side, which she prefers.
She didn't like my suppressed 223. Said it was pushing her back so she started closing her eyes. That was when the 11-12mm groups at 100m opened up. We managed to get past that little hiccup.
Something in 7mm and some sort of magnum case would be a good next step I think.
It'll be an off the shelf base with a break and some glass of some sort. The usual budget hunting stuff. I have my tight arse reputation to uphold.
Won't be anything too extravagant but definitely a step up.
I've probably got the keener eye and steadier hand still. Quack was well impressed with my eyesight last test, though close focus is...
