    Ball needs to sit slightly proud, so it 'clicks'...

    Ball needs to sit slightly proud, so it 'clicks' into place, when going back to zero position IMO.
    If it's hitting a 'post', then ball will stop ring from moving when in position.Or it needs a drop...
