Yeah that's a given, I was in that same boat, with basic gear hunting in the Longwoods when shots were rarely past 50yds. Gear got better and cheaper, my hunting style changed and so did the ranges....
I would have thought that was pretty obvious, the whole point being to see if overall, as hunters, if ranges of animals shot has increased. Seems to be a resounding no, with the obviously very small...
Certainly seems so far sub 200 is still the norm, with GWH and stug breaking that trend.

That's a bloody good point mate, and I know a particular chap who bought himself a 6.5prc and now thinks he can shoot long range. Alot of supposed "misses" that were probably wounded however, not...
I honestly thought my figures would be higher as most is open tussock, tops type shooting. Seems that atleast with my results, that the ole 200yds or less is fairly accurate, despite quite a few...
