Thanks, I think everyone I know has a hunting knife now so probably make some kitchen sets next.
Using a clamp/guide to keep a clean ricasso is a must for me as the tracking on my linisher is a bit...

nearly finished this Bob Engnath design. Pretty thin behind a wicked edge in 14c28n and some flex in the end half of blade. Be good for processing animals or fish I would think.
G10 scales...
I would like to put washers on the outer part of pivot pin but haven't found any.
Cool, yes I got the pivot pin and nylon washers from artisan supplies.

Handle was bit thick on this one so re-profiled it. My new favourite in hand. Grunty drop point in 01 steel. Best with forced patina I think as the other one stains up pretty quick after prepping...
Put a bit of shape in it so feels better in hand143893
Finished this friction folder. Took a bit of farting around to get the template/timing right.
Not heavy use but should handle field dressing ok.

Another couple of knives. O1 steel and teak. Have some stainless off getting hardened. Pretty impressed with the edge holding and sharpenability. Seems reasonably rust resistant with a forced patina....
Will be worth it When its looking way cool and has good balance. Not a job for me though. I just skeletenise the tang some
Looks cool. What's the wood? Coconut palm?
Bit of mustard forced patina or a couple of years use for character
I never thought to tape together and drill the whole lot.

Cool troppo, think I saw that Skinner in Damascus steel. Been a good tinker with the sun coming in through open shed door.
Ok guys, lockdown has afforded me time for knife making. Here is knife 01.
I have had help from Shelley who sold me his old punishing machine and gave pointers on how to rebirth it back to good...
nice grinds. Do you use a jig or free hand?
Cool, thanks for replies. Been inspired by Vipers work to have a go myself.
Thanks. Do you use pins, rivets or corby bolts as well?
What are you guys using to attach the handle scales?
14C28N it is. Pretty rare at this price point
I've got one. Like the sweep on the blade and smooth bearing.
I think Its 12C27
There is a moratorium on buying rifles at my place at the moment. Knives were not mentioned so I made the only choice I could:P124625
