They’re a great bush boot, lowland hunting etc. I just wish I’d gone to the Nevada for alpine stuff.

The rands aren't glued, just stitched. So once the stitching wore thru the rand just fell away. If they were glued as well, then that would be better.
It can be tricky block in poor weather but in good weather it's pretty cool. The landing site is high altitude and not very sheltered from big winds. A few trees around to give you some protection....
Shot this spiker on last day of seven day trip, right on the main divide in South Westland.
Thought my stag from the same area in 2022 was going to be hard to beat.
Think this is his brother or...
Yes. Especially if you want to wear them anywhere near scree and rocks.
The rands on the Dakota are stitched on and mine wore through in their 2nd trip and rand peeled away.

Fly in walk out. Or fly in fly out.
I assume it could make it easier to catch on something, and if you were carrying it with a round in the chamber it may cause an accidental discharge.
On one occasion I can recall my hammer being...

Did a quick mission up to Canterbury in the weekend to look for a spring bull tahr before we all get too busy as the year winds down! A pretty goood leg stretch in the morning stomping our way in,...
Righto, after a few opinions. No doubt some of you are good on a BBQ? Our BBQ is poked, they don't last long when you can smell the sea from the house.
Was just going to buy another gas one, but...
Welcome, you will learn lots here hopefully. Nothing wrong with shooting a right handed gun left handed. I'm left handed and have a couple of right handed rifles and you quickly learn where the bolt...
Guys, it was me that suggested Tim join up, contribute and ask for some advice. He is a friend of one of my old mates from Tassie back when I was working over there.
I've got a few ideas for him...
Strange. I've put nearly 5000 rounds through mine and have yet to have a misfire or cycling issue. Shooting all sorts of ammo, super and subsonic, suppressed most of the time.
I can spot my shots with the PRC, but it's braked. I carry a couple of sets of ear plugs in a stock pack, with spare ammo etc.
All my stuff is now makita, I use it alot. Love the skill saw, light weight and durable
Mine are approx five years old and have been great. My hunting mate bought a set the same time and his crapped out after two years, got a replacement set, they wouldn't range past a couple hundred...
I'm pretty sure I have ridden thru that crossing there on a trail ride several years back. I remember it because the rocks were seriously slippery, the fella in front of me dropped his bike in the...
Haha, in my first year at uni I spent over half the year hunting. Three weeks straight on Lake Ellesmere hunting ducks too [emoji23]

Cheers mate, appreciate that. And yes, I've been lucky on the hunting front over the last few years and am blessed with boys who love the outdoors. Just looking forward to when they can carry their...
