Hunting with dogs, looking after your own hearing, not disturbing deer in the next valley if you want to carry on hunting, and for smaller calibers point blank dispatching shots.
There's lots of...
Strider B my 7mm08 was 9.5grs Trailboss for 1052fps. You will need a bit less for your 24inch barrel.
I've run 140gr Sierra pro hunters in a 20" Tikka 7mm08 and they shot well. I rung steel out to 300m.
145 Speers wouldn't stabilize 130's would.
I'll have to check my load out when I get home, from...
Compressed air, then in the hot water cupboard over night.
Personal thing mate.
I'm not a target shooter but I anneal for case life.
I understand metallurgy as I've worked in the trade for 30+ years so doing a bit of research flame annealing was a no...
Thats pretty good speed for a copper bullet in a 7mm08.
Interesting to see how they perform on game, I'm picking no real difference.
What he said, this is the most sensible answer in the whole thread.
Like any new skill it takes time to learn, get hands on advice from someone that has experience.
Most plastic plugs or threaded tube will be BSP.
You could go to a local Engineering shop and get them make you one up out of 1inch or 1 1/8 PVC hex if they have some.
Just be aware that you will...
Bill999, Are you using cast lead bullets or the expensive subsonic copper bullets?
Nice simple setup.
Here's you answer right here, but if your going to shoot heavy for caliber bullets (180Gr and heaver) the 3006 will have a slight edge over the 308 even with a short barrel.
Thanks dogmatix that was an interesting read.
Would you consider swapping your 284 mold for a 312 mold fi I can find one?
wsm junkie
Out of interest what diameter drill do you use?
Yes I have and it worked, so did my 303 and my 6.5x55..................
you get the idea.
I have a PDF file from Hodgdon with reduced youth hunting loads.
The list 35.6gr of H4895 (2206h) with a 120gr Hornady sp for 2605fps for the 7mm08.

Both of your statements are correct in there own way.
Personally I lean towards the second statement however if running a real short barrel and a suppressor I would take the First statement into...
Nice looking forward to hearing your results
Probably too slow a burn rate, its similar to 2213.
Second choice power for 7mm08 and bullets over 140gr would be Win760 with a magnum primer or a Winchester primer. Yes its a similar burn rate to 2209 but... you don't run out of room in the case like...
Use 154gr ADI data for the 150 ELD-X. That's how Hornady groups them in their reloading manual.
2208 is the best burn rate for a 7mm08 with a barrel longer than 16 inches, if you can get it.
Well there you go you already have a Barometric meter. Just change one of the data field's on the page of your choice to "Barometer". This will give you corrected pressure so don't put in elevation...
Do you have a GPS?
If it has an altitude meter it will have a barometer to give you pressure.
