Fished softies all weekend, they caught cod ,barracouta , kaiwhai ,and gurnard. Use pumpkin and nuclear chicken , I fished along side bait fisherman ( couta and squid)and lures for the kaiwhai.

Ok report time

1/2 oz 4/0 hook with pumpkin jerk shad. Fished it 20 - 50 ft, cod were small in close, but hooked and had a John Dory at the boat... Don't drop the rod tip as the jig head rolls...
