    Landcrusier Vx

What is a LandCrusier VX Limited petrol 4.5L engine like as opposed to a diesel one.
It is a 1992 model, guess it will be thirsty, anything else, motor wise, Good, bad?

I dont know of any problems with the petrol engine other than thirsty(but so is the diesel for a diesel)

    Thanks
There is one local that has a "claimed" 110k on it for just under 20k, the entire vehicle looks in good nick.

Shit thats a fair whack for a 92! Petrols not to common but that era you would be looking more like 12-16k for a diesel tho I did see a 1991 go for 20k but it was a fully optioned manual with fact diff locks front and rear ,fridge, heated seats etc.
And a diesel turbo manual is like rocking horse shit.
Not really sure what a petrol is worth?

Ta, what I was looking for Veitnamcam, the milage seems very low at 110k and I thought if it's genuine it mightn't be a bad price, actual sticker price is $1899.00, so somewhat high then.
    cheers.

my old man has a petrol vx
i think the old man payed 6 and a half
and its the leather/ fridge etc model and a 94
they are hard on fuel but nothing realy beats a crusier for towing
some people reckon you only get 450 kms out of the 90L tank but if you know what to do
you can get 700kms and 70 on fuel light til it runs out
if you up in the 20k price range try find a 100 series

Fark 450kms out of 90L, I can get over 500 out of my surf [ diesel] if I treat it right.

If im loaded up and in a hurry I can drop my diesel vx down to 400km per tank (100liters)
Usually I average round 650km but I dont piss round and its lightly modded.
If I really concentrated on being a good boy i could probably do 950km but whats the point in having power if you cant use it?

Yes I can, as I said over 500kms, can go Oamaru to Ch-Ch [Papanui] and back and pull in with a 1/4 tank left.
I have a 94 with the 1KZ-TE motor, dunno how big the fuel tank is 55-60L I suppose.I've done 75000kms in her and so far it's cost front disc's last warrent, one set of tyres and a couple of ball joints, ahh just remembered a muffler.

I'd be spending similar or a bit less on a diesel 80 with higher kms than on an overpriced petrol 80 just because it has "low" kms. Fuel consumption will suck your wallet dry. We had a petrol one (and currently have a 100 series v8 petrol for towing the boat), monthly fuel costs are up to twice that of a diesel one. A well maintained 4.2 will do half a million kms no trouble, all of ours have in the past.
