1-10 twist 7mm mag
Does anyone have any experience with a 7mm rem mag with a 1-10 twist.
I’m helping set one up. Will be used as a 0-600ish gun. Kinda a general purpose gun.
Anyone have first hand experience how heavy a projectile I can use for him.
Looked the the 162 ELDX but has a min twist of 1-9.5
The 150 ELDX has min twist of 1-10, so thinking of that.
So any thought or opinions
Cheers

maybe 132 sst? that is a slow barrel

I'd give the 162s a go, they may work just fine

I have used 7*61 (similar to 7mm rem mag) for about 50 years and the Norma 160 btsp or Sierra 160gn sbt / spt were extremely accurate. Around 2900fps. These bullets are not as long as the more recent vld types but are in reality excellet for hunting or target out to over 600 yards

Youll actually probably get the 168vld to shoot through it fine. Although that definitly is pretty slow for 7mm mag.

In my Tikka 695 with a t3 barrel on it I am getting good accuracy with both the 162 gr and 175 gr LRAB, not sure of twist rate but think it's 1-9 ish.
