The 120 NBT just plain work

Shot this last night with 18" barrel 7-08 @ 3000 fps. 260 yards.

The 7mm 120 Nosler Ballistic Tips are an exceptional bullet. They have the same jacket thickness as the 140 grn so penetrate really well.

That's the exit side in the pic. It was lung shot.

I'm very happy with the 125 ABs in the 308 too.

The 120 NBT is actually thicker/heavier at tip compared to the 140 NBT. They use the same cup but shorten it for the 120 NBT. I've got/had a picture somewhere showing it.

yep... great all around projectile, actually a touch hard for smaller animals wallabies and goats, not particularly explosive... which of course makes them good for deer... always seem to be accurate as well. In my clan we run 3 7mm-08s, and I have had 2 others and its hard to go past the 120BT. Use for everything Thar Chamois deer goats and wallabies....

Yeah I like them too. 16.5 inch barrel and 45 grains 2208 = 2800 fps. Not fast but shot a few this summer and autumn and the majority went straight down.

Good @Ginga. Do you still hunt that spot? Success? This deer was shot just around the corner.

Yeah. But their tip isn't a very nice colour

I've been using NBTips since 1975. They have improved somewhat since their introduction. The don't seem so frangible now a days.

Yes the brown isn't flash, however I have a soft spot as the 6.5 120gr NBT in 6.5x55 was the first calibre and bullet I ever developed and then loaded for from scratch by myself.

The 6.5 ones work pretty good too. I used to load them (120 grn) with W760. I recall that they copped a bit of criticism on the old forum and I never understood why.

I've shot a lot of animals with the 140gr version. They are lethal at any range!

    Love em!
