Thread: 123 gr amax speeds. (6.5mm)

anyone using the 123 gr amax out of a 260 if so what sort of speeds are you getting?
can they be pushed to 3000 fps or there abouts?
I am using the 140s at 2800 ish but might be missing a trick. If I can get the 123 grs
up around the 3000 mark then on paper at least they out perform the 140s at all ranges
that I would use them at.

I haven't used the 123s & don't know what you indend to do with them, but I would stay with the 140s.

As long as they were as accurate as each other the 140s should still have the edge in field conditions.

My 130gr bergers are going over 3000fps so you should be able to get the 123gr Amaxs up there (depending on your barrel length i suppose)

Yeah try the 130 Berger. Good compromise of speed vs BC.

What load are you using with the 140s? Barrel length?

Not the same apples but in my 6.5x47L I started out with 123 Amax's and 123 Scenars but have since gone to 130 Bergers which have superb accuracy in my gun. They give away a bit of BC to the 142 MKs I use in my other hotter 6.5 but just shoot so well. My use is killing paper so may not be relevant for this thread.
