    162 Amax holding 1000 ft lbs to 3000 yds ;-)

    Just watching Hillary on TV, they were at 28000 ft altitude, got me thinking how would the ballistics of my 7Saum look at that altitude.....?

    Turns out at 8500m a 162 Amax doing 3k will hold 1k ft lbs of energy to 3000 yards .

    There's a bit of useless info for the day.

    One for you:
    If you were at 28000 ft and shooting your 162 gr amax in your 7 wsm at 3000fps toward the ground below you on a verticale axis at close to sea level, would your bullet be subsonic before touching the ground or would it still be supersonic?
