    20 inch 280ai

    Last week I fell over and banged a few a few inches off my 280ai.It is now 20 inches with a suppressor. Has anyone loaded for one like mine. I'm using 162 gr amaxs. Interested in seeing what powders people use.Im currently trying rl22.cheers

    RL26 or N560 are my go to for 280ai. I used to run RL22 but switched to N560 and got another 100 fps

    my std 270 was 20" and I used AR2213SC for all projectile weights without issue.

    With a 20" bbl, I'd def try plain ole 2209

    I've been looking at 2209, will give it a try.I've tried 2 different powders and can't get the 162 amaxs to group under 2 inches.got me stumped.

    Interesting what's the rifle details barrel twist etc did it shoot them well befor barrel chip have you tried anyother loads?

    I use n560 in my 20 inch 280ai, get just under 2900 with 168 Berger

    Shilen barrel, 1 in 9 twist. Was doing half inch groups before chop. Used to shoot out to 800 m quite happily.

    Look at redoing the crown. Shouldn't be losing that accuracy...if anything a shorter bbl might tighten the groups up.

    Took the suppressor off and put muzzle brake on. First group just under an inch, second group just under 3/4. Im thinking its a suppressor issue.Back of the suppressor is touching barrel. The barrel is a bit big for suppressor now that its been cut back.
