    2208 and 2206h powder for No.4 303

    Hey guys,
    I've loaded some 180 grain 0.311 fmj for my No.4 303.
Tried both 2206h and 2208 and both worked fine but want some more experienced 303 reloaders to tell me what is the robust load they run.

    Cheers.

Quickload says Max with 2206H and 180 gn projs is 42.0 gn's for nearly 2600 fps (from a 24.5" barrel) - a very snorty but well balanced load I'd say with all powder burnt - Its MAX so work up to it.

With 2208 and 180's 43.0 is Max for almost the same velocity and a tiny bit less efficient - I'd use whatever shoots best.

These loads are a 2-3gns above the ADI manual I have, which looks like its working to SAAMI standards as opposed to British, which allow for a bit more pressure.

2209 is a wee bit slow for max efficiency

With those I use 37grs 2206h and just tried 2208 40.5grs, which I'm changing over to, softer shooting. 2209 didn't work for me. P14 too.

I've always had good luck with 40-41 grains of 2208 behind a 180 FMJ. always work up though.
