    Question 222 Rem load

Greetings to all you good guys.

I have a thousand Winchester 46gn HP projectiles ( WB22HP46 ) that I'd like to develop a target load for. Will be using new brass - Lapua and/or Sako.
Have no need or desire for blistering speed - I'm looking to get one hole accuracy from my Sako Vixen @ 100mtr.
    Powders that I have are 05, 06H, 09, VV130, VV133 in reasonably plentiful supply.
Have any of you worked up anything that I might use as a starting point?

    Thanks,
    49er

N130 should be pretty good. See what Vihtavuori say and work up from there.

the 2206h would be my starting point...crazy looking at the data for it...Ive pretty much been using trebly load in my .223 for 30 years. 24.5grns wont be far off.

Vihtavouri suggest the N130 as ideal. Your 133 will work but is compressed at max load so you'll have to see what it looks like:

I was just loading some light bullets in a 223 with N130 yesterday for the first time. It is very fine powder but surprisingly it seemed quite bulky with the load coming up into the neck. A slower pour and a bit of case tapping and it settled down into the case a lot. Good luck!

    Thanks, guys.

I'll have a look at VV and ADI.
    Interesting that the ADI data (2206H) shows 23.8 ( C ) being maximum for a 45grn projectile.
24.5 grn might be a bit over the top in a 222 - might be OK in a 223. Case capacity somewhat more in the 223.
748 powder I do not have. I'll try what I have to begin with.

Why did I say in my original query that I will be using 46grn projectiles?

A 46 gn pill will work fine with a 50-55 pill load. A touch slower but you’ll play with the charge a bit to get best accuracy .

    Hi mate,
That's exactly what I would do. No reason why 2206H wouldn't work.

That is utter garbage. 49er was clear he stated he had 1k of bullets he wanted to use and included the powder options.

He got replies suggesting different bullet weights and powders he doesn't have. The info provided was totally useless. Infact one suggested what was likely way over max. And you wonder why he wasnt appreciative.

Comes to something when all this data exists from reputable sources, can be accessed for free via the internet, yet OP still wants to be spoon fed by other members?
