It's doing what I need. Anyway I have 1.5kg of AR2208. May never use it all.

@Oldbloke the sierra super roo isn't something ive seen here in NZ. We used to get nosler shots which were evidently for the roo trade and we're a damn good bullet

It's just the Sierra 55 gn SP #1365 game king purchased in a bulk pack

I shot 65gamekings in my 1-9 model 7 no flash plastic tips and I wouldn’t a clue what the bc was but man they really are a very empathetic killer and I’d happily recommend them to anyone with the mentioned criteria I didn’t shoot any reds but I wouldn’t hesitate to it knock fallow stags and wild pork over very well

Thanks mate looks like that’s the direction I’ll head down, as I said 200m max sort of distance I’m not fussed about bc just looking for first hand experience and utilising the twist with slightly heavier pills

Yes done that, gone over the rifle completely and cleaned well, it had fired less than 50 rounds when I got hold of it. All seems to be in order, dpt shortened and did the crown, everything they have done for me in the past has been perfect, maybe I’ve just been unlucky with the factory ammo I’ve selected so far

Got some 69g targex, loaded to try with a 1/9 Savage, will report back, target wise @ 100

Shot today shows potential, extreme seating depth, may improve with a bigger jump & a fuller case.

Thanks for the info, I’ve had a look around my main issue is going to be tracking down projectiles in the 60-69gr range they must be popular

Also worth a try if you don't mind filling are 73 grn ELDM. They stabilise in my 1:9. They are quite short.

Look at it this way maybe. You have other rifles that will tackle bigger animals out further much better.keep .223 for casual walkies and smaller than stag type game.IF you happen to be carrying it and something big pops up.you just going to have to be patient and wait for right shot to present itself ,then place that tiny pill precisely... Guys been doing it for fifty years before this new fad for fast twists n heavy pills came along. Follow the rules of engagement and you will be fine with 50-55 grn basic cheap as chips cup n core loads. A half dozen premium loads in tit pocket maybe...not end of world if don't have them.
