I have a holder but never been happy with it. Pretty darn loose. I think its a Lee.
Thinking I might replace it.
What brand and size are people using and happy with?

Lyman make very good shell holders. Nice and tight and if you ever want to use their primer tool, you'll need one of their shell holders.

I am using a RCBS no 10 for the .223 and it works fine in my Lyman hand primer.

PS. The Lee No 5 not so much in my press of case trimmer.

I had a rcbs 308 one that didn't cut the mustard with the Lyman hand primer. Distance between bottom of shell holder and case was too far and it wouldn't seat them properly. Worked a treat with Lyman shell holder.Quote:

I'm using a Lee(#4) on both my hand prime as welll as on the presses and it might be because they are 30 years old, but they are pretty good quality.
I've recently purchased a RCBS(#10) thats pretty good quality too. I would purchase more RCBS without questions.
