Mines at 19-20 inches, very handy at that length and still getting 3100 with 95 grain ballistic tips, but if you're mostly bush hunting then please yourself. You'll have plenty of punch to 200 or maybe a little further with the right combo.

north island bush hunting...says it all really...0-50 the norm with occasional 200-250 so yip you will be fine.
Gunsmith says 16in will be ok and keeps suppressor close to the end of the stock.bit more meat in the barrel for threading as well.only real downside is I’m looking to put a 1-4 Leupold on it and don’t want to go too high with rings but you end up seeing a lot of the suppressor when on low power..
do NOT sweat seeing suppressor..its like a shotgun when swinging up for quick shot in dim conditions...and above 3x you wont notice it. at worst it will take up bottom 1/4 of sight picture on lowest power...I can say this with certainty having same rifle with weaver clip over rings in weaver bases,I had nikko stirling 1.5-5 on it .
Yea I have lived with it on my .308 in the past..
thats on 1 power...cant see it on 5 power.
When taking a shot at a big Red you won't see anything but the Venison
Guns in getting chopped to 16in and going to use my 30cal dpt on it,be trying it out over the weekend hopefully, got some federal blue box from a long time ago in 80 and 100g..
